December 10, 1997:

• Nominees in eight categories for the 25th Annual American Music Awards were announced Thursday (December 10, 1997). Winners will be announced Jan. 26 at a ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA. ABC-TV will air the special live at 8 p.m. (EST).

  In the category of COUNTRY, FAVORITE NEW ARTIST: Bob Carlisle, Kevin Sharp and Lee Ann Womack. Congratulations, Kevin!

• Kevin is in two magazines this month! Check out the December 16th issue of Country Weekly (pages 8-11), and the December issue of New Country (pages 32-34)!

• The animation Annabelle's Wish has been released to video. Kevin sings If You Believe on the soundtrack. Visit the Make-A-Wish Foundation for more information about this special movie!

• From Country Music Television 1997 Countdown Video Awards:

  Kevin Sharp won Male Rising Video Star Of The Year and had the No. 7 video, "She’s Sure Taking It Well."

  The Countdown will be telecast again on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 8:00 a.m., Eastern; Sunday, Dec. 21 at 9:00 p.m., Eastern; Monday, Dec. 22 at 10:00 a.m., Eastern; Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 8:00 p.m., Eastern; and Thursday, Dec. 25 at 2:00 p.m., Eastern.

• Kevin had some hip surgery, but he's up-and-around already. One fan said that at a recent concert, Kevin showed the crowd his hip x-ray. What a nut! You can still mail your best wishes (and/or Christmas goodies?!) to Kevin at:
